Open Position: Digital Advertising Account Manager SEM & Social Advertising

Sum Digital is a tight-knit group of expert online marketers. We’ve worked with some great clients, including Lyft, AppDynamics, Pura Vida Bracelets, and others. The core of our agency is Google AdWords and Facebook ads expertise, but we consider ourselves true students of all online marketing. As an example of our dedication to our craft and our acknowledged expertise, we have been tapped by Facebook Ads engineers, product managers and UX pros to give feedback on the Facebook Ads interface and functionality during several in-person meetups. If you have a BA/BS in Business, Advertising, Marketing, Economics or a related major, plus experienc managing campaigns in Google AdWords or Facebook Ads – either on the advertiser or agency side – and you’d like to grow and learn alongside a small team of professionals, we’d like to hear from you.


What you'll do:

This role is responsible for managing all aspects of digital marketing account management for assigned client accounts, including but not limited to:

  • Driving SEM & social advertising strategy for agency clients
  • Creating roadmaps for strategic initiatives and optimization efforts to hit client goals and targets
  • Setting and hitting client targets for both volume and efficiency (ROI, ROAS, CPA)
  • Identifying and executing tasks that will have the most significant impact in hitting targets
  • Monitoring campaigns to ensure the account is pacing well relative to budgets and targets
  • Implementing testing initiatives in key areas such as ad creative, landing pages, audience and keyword targeting, etc.
  • Developing/collaborating on ad creative:
    • Work w/ our excellent in-house graphic designer on image creative
    • Create compelling ad copy for SEM text ads and as accompanying text for GDN and FB Ads image ads
  • Delivering weekly reports and updates on key initiatives to clients

What you have:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Advertising, Marketing, Economics or a related major
  • 1-2 years or more of hands-on campaign management in either or both of:
    • Google AdWords
    • Facebook Ads
  • Experience managing ads programs to successfully hit target efficiency metrics
  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Excel; e.g. pivot charts & tables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to learn quickly in a new environment

What We'd LOVE You to Have

  • Demonstrated success growing and scaling Google AdWords programs, and/or
  • Demonstrated success growing and scaling Facebook Ads programs
  • Google AdWords certified
  • Hands-on, in-depth knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Proficiency with Google Tag Manager
  • Solid understanding of conversion tracking & reporting techniques and technologies
  • Hands-on experience with 3rd-party A/B testing tools such as Optimizely
  • Expert-level MS Excel skills
  • BA/BS from a top school; majors in accounting, economics, advertising/marketing or technical areas a major plus
  • Demonstrated thought leadership around online marketing topics

Sum Digital offers a relaxed atmosphere, great hours and flexible vacation time. Our office is located in the heart of SOMA in San Francisco (2nd and Howard).  As for agency culture, we are still building that out – come help!  We don’t drink a lot of Kool-Aid around here; we mostly just get stuff done, and we have team lunches each Thursday.
